In fact, eating whole grains has a whole host of health benefits—from lower blood sugar and blood pressure to better immune response. Published in the Journal of Nutrition, this new research examined how whole-and refined-grain consumption affected five of the major risk factors for heart disease: blood pressure, blood sugar, waistline circumference, and triglyceride and HDL (good cholesterol) levels.
