Baumkuchen is a traditional German cake, but apparently it's a lot more popular in Japan than it is in Germany. You can get this pretty much anywhere in Japan from convenience stores to supermarkets to fancy pastry shops. It requires a lot of skill and a special machine to make it professionally, but this time I made it with a Japanese pan and very simple ingredients at home.
