Her Mom and Dad didn't like how Alice usually spent her summer school break. Both of her parents grew up in an orphanage so she never had any grandparents to speak of. There was no grandma's cottage where she could spend the summer months like her classmates did. So she'd just chat with people on social media, or binge-watch YouTube videos, or play games on her phone. A year and a half ago, Dad announced Alice was going to a scouts summer camp. She had no idea what kind of activities to expect so she packed a dozen books. After she arrived at her assigned dorm and saw a bunch of hyperactive teenage girls, she realized she wouldn't have much opportunity to read. One of the girls noticed her sulking and dragged her outside. Some boys were sitting around the campfire and playing guitar. They seemed astonishingly rude to Alice. She thought she'd ended up in one of the lousiest camps where the counselors didn't even care how the scouts spent their time. Early in the next morning, the scouts went outside to learn how to forage for wild berries and make fire. After lunch, they tried to swim in what was basically a swamp. The water barely reached Alice's waist. But they weren't allowed to swim in the river. Later that night, one bratty girl spilled yogurt all over Alice's dorm room, and by the morning, it smelled really bad. Everyone in the room got a detention for bad behavior. Their punishment was to clean the entire dorm. In one of the rooms Alice cleaned, she met an extremely rude guy who showered her with compliments. He said: "You look just like Megan Fox, but are you sure your friend isn't the secret daughter of Michael Berryman?" Alice guffawed and her clueless friend got all flustered. She talked about it for the rest of the day until she could go online to see what that Michael Berryman looked like. That night, when Alice came to the campfire, the same guy chased after her. His name was Alex. At some point, he grabbed her arm and led her to the river. The place looked very romantic. But when he tried to kiss Alice's cheek, she instinctively slapped him in the face. He quickly apologized and they went back. In the next few days, Alex was brooding. He didn't bother Alice for the rest of their shift at the camp, but they exchanged phone numbers. He didn't call until one winter night. They really hit it off on the phone, as if they had been dating each other for a while. He was 2 years older and they had lots of things in common. When they met, Alice thought he changed for the better. He seemed incredibly courteous and well-mannered. It wasn't like Alice at all, but she found herself at his apartment on their very first date. His parents were out of town so she spent the night at his place. She tried to refuse but he insisted she shouldn't be going home so late. Alice told her Mom she was with a girlfriend and asked her permission to stay at her place to watch "Home alone". For some reason, Mom believed her. But 5 minutes later, someone knocked on the door! Alice freaked out and Alex hid her in the closet. When he opened the door, it was his own mom, who returned to pick up a present she forgot to pack. When she left, Alex pulled Alice out of the closet. He did it so unceremoniously that she fell on top of him. They froze in awkward silence. Then, Alex got up, lifted her in his arms, and carried her to bed. Alice was stupefied. When she asked: "Can we at least use protection?", he just mumbled: "Uh, it's gonna be fine." 3 weeks later, when she felt sick, Alice knew she was pregnant. That night, as her family was preparing to have dinner and Dad was like: "Well, let's eat our ravioli, bon appetit everybody", Alice just said quietly: "Hey I'm pregnant…" At first, everyone started laughing because they genuinely thought she was joking. When Alice showed them the pregnancy test, her parents were furious. Alice's Dad thinks getting rid of a baby is evil, so she kept it. And then she learned she was expecting triplets. Alex stayed with her and he helps however he can, but it doesn't make the situation easy. At her age, Alice should be studying and thinking about her future. But as a mom, she has to take care of her children rather than herself. Girls, don't trust boys when they tell you it's gonna be fine and you won't get pregnant. #MyStory
