Description: Cooking with Chef Dai channel youtube.com/channel/UCFV-GT88-qTS4c0DAtTxRpg How to Make Pork Shogayaki (Grilled Ginger Pork Recipe) 豚肉の生姜焼き 作り方レシピ Ingredients : Cooking oil - any vegetable or light olive oil White onion x 1 small Pork loin or pork belly slices x 150 g (cut into 2mm thickness) Salt x 1 pinch Pepper x 1 pinch Cooking sake x 1 Tbsp Steamed rice For the sauce : Cooking sake x 1 Tbsp Soya sauce x 1 Tbsp Mirin x 1 Tbsp Sugar x 1/2 Tbsp Grated ginger x 1/2 Tbsp Grated garlic x 1/2 tsp Optional toppings: Spring onion x 1/2 Kimchi x 1 Tbsp Onsen tamago / Japanese poached egg Shredded Cabbage x 1 handful Mayonnaise Pork shogayaki is an extremely popular dish in Japanese cuisine. Shoga (生姜) means ginger, and yaki (焼き) means to grill or fry. It can also be made with beef and chicken, but the pork version is so much more popular and is second only to the king of Japanese pork dishes , tonkatsu. Pork shogayaki is more commonly accompanied by a bowl of rice, miso soup and shredded cabbage. In this version, I've also added a poached egg, spring onions and kimchi. Hope you enjoyed the video!!!
