Description: Kelly Irish Design: kellyirish.ie Follow Kelly on Instagram: instagram.com/kelly_irish 10% off at Squarespace: squarespace.com/rainfallprojects A project we've been wanting to work on for awhile now is a trellis for our front entry way. Kelly did all the design work, starting off with quick sketches in her sketch book. Once she had an idea of the direction she wanted to go, she moved onto her ipad and used Procreate to draw a design that she could send on to me, so I could export it from Vcarve and get it cutting on the CNC plasma table. Once the three panels Kelly designed were cut, I fabricated a frame around them and welded them together. For the top arch, I rolled the square tubing in my ring roller and then hammered the cutout panel into a rough matching arch shape, before welding it in place, forcing it to match the shape of the rolled tubing as I worked my across the piece. Once the trellis was built, we gave it a coat of paint and called my gramps to help move it into place in front of our entry way with his loader tractor.
