Description: We came in after dark, so I didn't realize that this was one of those magical camping spots until I woke up! I had no idea how beautiful and special it was! Wow! To be amongst those massive boulders, some loose, others still conglomerated into beautiful sandstone features with the Sierras powering up as the backdrop to one of the most amazing scenes I have ever found myself. There was so much natural beauty to take in that I would like to share it with my family, go back and stay for a week or so. When I found last night's fire still putting off considerable heat I knew I had struck gold when it comes to easy cooking. Hot coals are perfect for cooking because they put off a very consistent medium-low heat that lasts for a long time. They are also clean burning. The only drawback they have is the extensive process needed to create them. Luckily, this morning they were waiting for me, ready to cook my breakfast of fresh baked biscuits and homestyle milk gravy with sausage.
