Description: Hey gang! I often get asked how to breathe properly during a workout. It's a pretty simple answer, so I figured it would be a great topic for #shorts on my channel. In this video I sum up the basic concepts behind proper breathing for isotonic (dynamic) and isometric (static) exercises. The gist of it is you want to exhale, preferably through the mouth, on the exertion or "concentric" phase of the movement. Then on the negative or "eccentric" phase you want to inhale through the nostrils. It's not to say it's the ONLY way to breathe, just the most effective. Then on isometrics you simply keep breathing - don't hold your breath. Now, there's also another concept called power breathing that can allow you to get even more power into your concentrics, but that's a topic for a full-length video :) I hope this helps! ▶ MY WORKOUT APP: bit.ly/3qtIUv9 ▶ I use supplements from Snap Supplements - MINUS20 for 20% OFF store-wide! bit.ly/3rD9Nyv ▶ CALISTHENICS GEAR: Use MINUS10 for 10% OFF!
