Description: WWE SmackDown 17th September 2021 (17/09/21) in a nutshell. This week’s SmackDown started off with The Bloodline’s promo which was interupted by the new WWE Champion, Big E. Then, Finn Bálor comes out and it's time for the first match of the night. Big E & Finn Bálor win against The Usos. After the match, we get to see a segment where Paul Heyman tells Roman Reigns that Brock Lesnar is scared of him, and that Brock Lesnar isn’t coming to Extreme Rules. Moving on, it’s time for Rick Boogs versus Robert Roode and Rick Boogs won via pinfall. After the match, Commander Azeez attacks both Rick and Nakamura, and Apollo demands a rematch. Next up is Kevin Owens versus Happy Corbin but we don't get to see this match as Corbin attacks Owens before the match even begins. Later on, The Usos attack Big E backstage, and Seth Rollins comes out to the ring to make a promo during which he blames the WWE Universe for what he did to Edge. Then, we have a women's tag team match. Liv Morgan and Toni Storm versus Zelina Vega and Carmella. Liv and Toni won via count out due to the fact that Carmella didn't want to return to the ring implying that there's something wrong with her nose. As Carmella and Zelina were heading to the back Liv took the microphone and challenged Carmella to a match at Extreme Rules. During a backstage segment that followed, Carmella accepted the challange, and Zelina said that Liv has to go through her first. Okay, it's time for the main event and it's Dominick Mysterio versus Sami Zayn. Sami won via pinfall and told Ray that Dominick isn't ready. Next, we have the final segment of the show. Kane returns and gives Bianca Belair a key. Becky Lynch comes out and is like, well you've got the key, I've got the championship, everyone's happy, so don't be like Big E and put her there. Bianca indeed puts her there, but doesn't let go, so Becky tries to attack, but Bianca counters, then Becky counters the counter and slams her into the ground.
