Description: This video was taken within 30 seconds of first meeting this woman. Wolfdogs can be social, trusting animals. It just takes patience and work. Indigo is a 1.5 year old low content wolfdog. We rescued her on Mother's Day, 2017, after she had been hit by a car and left without veterinary care for a week. When we first met Indigo she was shut down with fear. She spent weeks in the veterinary hospital recovering from two surgeries to save her life and limbs. She's recovered from a degloved paw, a fractured and dislocated growth plate, and a horrific MRSA infection. She also had a very rough beginning socially, being rehomed 5 times in the first 6 months of her life. If someone would look directly at her or hold their hand out for her to sniff she would get spooked and try desperately to run away, which is why we walk her on two leashes. Indi now is a loving, social, rambunctious puppy and it's hard to remember how she once was. All animals have the capacity to heal and Indigo reminds us daily of what is possible.
