Plywood used: amzn.to/2e41RjX Cheaper (smaller) sheet: amzn.to/2e07gXW Store bought boomerang: amzn.to/2e13JOs Free Template: goo.gl/E6nsvV SUBSCRIBE! goo.gl/NPiQUX 1/4" 5-layer Plywood is best because it can hold up to the abuse but you can also use solid wood if getting plywood is not possible. It just won't be as strong. So do what you can to obtain the same 5-layer ply. Do not get frustrated if it is hard to get your boomerang to return to you. There is a lot of things that need to be right for it to work, including the direction and speed of the wind. I included a link above to where you can see the type of plywood to use. One 12"x12" sheet of 1/4" plywood will make 2 boomerangs. A larger sheet like the 12x24 I used will allow you to make better use of the wood. You can make more boomerangs without as much scrap.
