Description: What's wrong with YouTube? Isn't it just a bunch of people posting random videos for other people to enjoy? Not if you ask the likes of Markiplier and Pewdiepie. According to them, there's been this massive shift in the culture of YouTube. In short, it feels less like a community of cool content and more like a gigantic mob machine powered by drama and negativity. And while I agree with the sentiment, I think that's more of a symptom than the actual problem. You see, if you try to answer the question as to why YouTube seems to be changing for the worse, you'll find that the issue has to do with much more to do than with negativity. It has to do with YouTube itself and some of the decisions it's made, motivated primarily by greed.
