Description: Autumn is officially here. We are slowly making progress and doing work as the weather allows us. If it's nice and dry we do the water insulation around the foundations and if it's wet, we do the brickwork.. In this video you can see the last three weeks work, I also welded the stairs but decided to make a separate video on making them. Christmas is coming quickly and so is the deadline I set for having the house under the roof, I'm still not loosing hope ;). The brickwork is the same as on the ground floor, only difference is that there is no water insulation between the slab and the mortar for the first row of bricks. We are still going up quite a lot with these walls especially on the north side so I decided to pour the concrete as we build to make sure a random gust of autumn wind doesn't topple them over. As for the water insulation around the base of the house, we started by digging a a trench for water drainage pipe around the house down to the bottom of foundations and leveling the extruded polystyrene. We then filled the gaps where it was missing and chamfered the edges. Then we applied the primer and self adhesive water insulation with reinforcements on the corners. This part is still in progress and we still need to complete it all around the house and protect it with a layer of polystyrene and damp proof membrane. We also need to install the drainage pipe I mentioned earlier.. I hope you like this fourth part of this project!
