It was the first model created with safe crumple zones. Safety was also kept in mind when designing the interior, and soft materials were used for the trim. The doors used locks that should not be a problem to open after a crash. The W110 shared the body structure base with the higher models, i.e. the W111 and W112, what was then the Mercedes S-Class. The W110's main selling point was its very high build quality and overall durability. This model achieved mileage of over half a million kilometers without any major problems. This Mercedes 190 is the gasoline version, just before the 200 replaced the 190. The car already has disc brakes at the front (introduced in 1963) and a left mirror located at the door (previously it was on the fender).
