Description: “The Knocking Bird” waits… and he waits... and he waits. In the deepest of forests, glades, mountain passes and towns, against the backdrop where deep blue-grey skies abound, you’ll find a particular creature known as the Knocking Bird. I know what you are thinking and no, it's not specifically a wood pecker or a mocking bird, although, it also could be. You see the term "Knocking Bird" is a title and not a species. Knocking birds can be born into any of our magnificent fine feathered, flying friend's families. It sometimes skips generations and then on a magical day a hatchling will begin presenting his or her gift. It starts with a blink and then its eyes begin to glow bright white. A persistent urge rushes over them and with their beak, they begin to knock. On tree trunks and knots, on boulders and rocks, through ivy and moss, even doors, windows and blocks, the knocking starts. As a tap at first, the knocking begins to grow as the bird gets closer and closer to what it is looking for. And what is it looking for you may ask? An entrance, doorway, portal, use your imagination! A way in to The Outside. It is through Knocking Birds, that the ways into and out of the Outside have been established and maintained by The Starry Knights. Being that these birds are from the Outside, they have the ability to share their gift with those they feel most attached too.
