Description: if you've ever tried to start a fire with a standard magnifying glass you know that it's harder than it looks. it will burn and blacken things *and smoke a lot - but it almost never results in an actual fire. that all changes with the magnifying lens in this video. it works every time. i tested it using all types of items (wood chips, sticks, twigs, leaves, dryer lint, white paper, brown paper, paper towels, on and on) ...and in 18 of the 19 tests i performed, the lens produced solid "self-sustaining" flames in only 3 to 10 seconds. even with the sun behind "light clouds" it will burst a small pile of twigs into flames in 10 seconds. this is by far the easiest, fastest and most reliable way to start a fire with the sun that i've ever found. nothing else even comes close. (other than a large mirrorized parabolic dish). the lens itself is small, powerful and very durable. great to have in a pinch and small enough to take "on the go". bring it with you while camping, hiking, or general adventuring. plus it's a good thing to have on hand for what life throws at us. emergencies, power outages, storms, wet matches... the lens i'm using is called a fresnel lens. it's sold as a "2x rigid page size magnifier" and is typically used for reading small print. the one i have is made out of clear PVC. bought it on amazon. note that even though it looks fragile, it's not. the manufacturer actually describes it as 'unbreakable' on the packaging. (we all know that's not technically true but it's very durable and holds up to a high level of abuse). in my opinion, it's definitely worth the 10 dollar investment. remember to store it where no sunlight can accidentally hit it. since it's a 'page size' magnifier, maybe store it in the pocket of a 3 ring binder or paper file folder. if you like the vid. remember to rate, sub and share. here's the link to the lens amazon.com/Mighty-Bright-88019-Page-Magnifier/dp/1933622865/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=rigid+page+magnifier+mighty+brite&qid=1606758844&sr=8-29
