Description: This Medinian chapter takes its name from the Family of ’Imrân mentioned in verse 33, who Muslims believe, is the father of Mary (Maryam). The story of the birth of Mary, John the Baptist, and Jesus is mentioned. The battle of Badr is mentioned in many verses and Muslims are stressed to remain steadfast in their struggle against the pagans of Makkah. The virtue of being mindful of God is highlighted at the end of this chapter. Translation: The Clear Quran by Dr. Mustafa Khatab (see note inside video) Motivation For this Audiobook (series): The lack of 'modern' English translations of the Holy Quran in audio like the readings of the Bible is alarming. The audio English translations that exist either are a lackluster mechanical reading or arcane (Pickthal etc). I could find only a couple (exactly 2) readings of the Quran that are "enjoyable" as stand alone audio-books. Those two have some shortcomings. The ones which mixed with Arabic readings are not suitable for audio-books since emphasis is more on a faithful representation of the meaning. The two proper audio-books that exist are readings of old translations that use words like "ye", "thou". Dr. Mustafa Khatab's "Clear Quran Translation" is gaining acceptance on quran.com and his the printed version is also selling in large numbers. He has emphasized readability instead of accuracy. Still it is more accurate than the English translation of the Quran by M.A.S. Abdul Haleem. Microphone: RODE Pro-caster, Triton Fethead and Focusrite Interface (no effects)
