Description: Whether you get back pain or not from loading up your weight belt when diving or spearfishing, a weight vest/harness is a great way to distribute ballast over the body more evenly. Sitting on the surface when spearfishing for long periods of time with a bunch of lead weights pushing on your lumbar spine can quickly become painful. Traditionally a weight vest or harness will have rectangular pockets for solid flat bars of lead, which aren't very comfortable. In this video I'll show you how to make the most comfortable weights for your vest using lead shot and nylon socks. I've been using these for a decade and they are fantastic. Remember lead is not good for you, wash your hands immediately after handling.
