Description: Advice on starting plants in module trays, under cover. Short no.2. Many sowings succeed better when you give ideal conditions to those precious seeds. Sweetcorn is an example of a warmth loving vegetable whose seeds will not germinate in cold conditions, plus they risk rotting if in cold soil. It may now be possible in early May to sow them outside - but you will get stronger results from using this method. Also your rows or blocks of plants will be full and without gaps, once you transplant. I transplant these outside at 2-3 weeks, still small. The tray is a CD30, see my Links page for details of suppliers charlesdowding.co.uk/links See this video for a look at my no dig garden on 29th April youtube.com/watch?v=YMz8Q7hfKKw For £5 we sell an online lesson about growing sweetcorn, melons, peppers and chillies charlesdowding.co.uk/product/from-seed-to-harvest-29-sweetcorn-melon-and-capsicums Filmed at Homeacres, UK by Nicola Smith on 28th April.
