Description: Don't try this at home! Never modify power tools, you may seriously injure yourself! That said, this is a pretty stupid design and I think Skilsaw should look at it and reconsider the ergonomics. 99% of the time, you want the blade guard to function as intended. Plunge cuts are not the most common use of a circular saw, but when you do need to do them, having control of the blade guard is key; the current design of the Skilsaw doesn't make that possible. Skilsaw's manual says to just make plunge cuts with one hand on the trigger... that's idiotic, I want both hands on the saw's handles for full control!
