The Easters Jill and Kent Easter were a wealthy power couple. They were Stanford and Berkeley law school alumni and successful lawyers in Irvine. They lived in a big white house with three kids and a cat—the perfect suburban life. But there was something darker. Tennis One year before the bug bust, Kelli was trying to rally the kids after a rowdy tennis class at the Afterschool Enrichment Program. She lined them up and walked them through the building to meet their parents outside. Wrath of Jill Still feeling the wrath of Jill's anger, the school principal, Heather Phillips, called her. Easter said she didn't want Kelli and the tennis coach to hurt more children. She and her husband approached parents to complain about Kelli on their way into school. No Sense Almost a year since the Easter boy was left outside at Tennis practice, Irvine police found bugs in Kelli's car. It was no coincidence, but she wasn't 100 percent positive that the Easters were behind this. Arrested After months of investigation, police finally had enough evidence to search the Easters' home and Kent's Newport Beach office. But first, they wanted to play it cool. Wearing the Pants At trial, Kent was painted as the emasculated husband. He was the victim of a manipulative wife who forced him to participate in a felony. When Kent took the stand, he talked about how his wife was obsessed with ruining Kelli's career and had planted the bugs in her PT Cruiser that day.
