I want to hear from you! shelleydarlington.com/submit-transformation Ok, here’s the deal: While in self-isolation during this pandemic, never has it been more important for you to take care of your health, to stay strong and prioritise your mental well-being. ~GET RESULTS AT HOME~ There are a lot of free workouts out there and you’ve probably tried them all already! But I want to remind you of the importance of being CONSISTENT by sticking to a well-developed program. Flitting from one workout to the next with no structure will not give you the best results. You can still get results at home with limited equipment - but you have to train a little smarter… thankfully, I’ve got your back! ~THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE~ This is the routine I will be following myself so I’m excited to work out along with you! The STRONG Curves Lock Down Program can be done for 4-6 weeks or for however long you’re going to be in self-isolation. It’s a complete routine that will target your full body with 2 upper body workouts and 2 lower body workouts per week. Feel free to do them all throughout the week. Because this STRONG Curves Lock Down Program is a lower/upper body split, you should be able to do two days in a row and then take a rest on the 3rd day, then repeating the sequence for the rest of the week. Please take rest days!! They are just as important as your training days. Enjoy some light cardio (if possible outdoors) and lots of yoga on your rest days. Why not try my stress-relieving yoga sequence here: youtu.be/2jTApYxmZr8 ~TRACK YOUR PROGRESS EVERY WEEK~ You are going to do the same routine, every week for 4-6 weeks - YES! Remember that thing I mentioned earlier? STRUCTURE + CONSISTENCY = RESULTS. Track your progress and aim to get stronger every week on every exercise you do. Maybe that means heavier weights or more reps. But don’t worry, if that doesn't happen every single session! Just be mindful that you always give it your all and strive to get better throughout the weeks. ~ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT~ All you need is a set of dumbbells or anything that will give you some resistance. If you don’t have dumbbells, you can use household items such as tin cans of food (very light) or water bottles (medium weight). This home workout is designed for medium weights, higher reps and short rest periods in a circuit style format to really maximise your gains. I’ve used 7-8kg dumbbells here - trust me you don’t need to go heavy, but you might want to adjust the weight to your own level. You may also want to use a bench/step with risers but the edge of your couch or a *sturdy* coffee table will do just fine too (just be careful, don’t hurt yourself!). Also, if you don’t have a block to elevate your heels, you can use a book instead. And of course, my STRONG Curves Booty Bands (pink & purple heavier resistance ones). ~TODAY’S WORKOUT: LEGS & CALVES~ The second workout in the STRONG Curves Lock Down Program is a lower body workout that will target the legs & calves.
