Description: Steve O: youtu.be/NGuyzVLovlc David Dobrik: youtu.be/fOeIIuvcd2A About a year ago we came up with this concept of putting rockets on rollerblades. And this was a total throwback to when I was a professional stunt rollerblader in my early twenties. In order to make these rocket skates we had our friend rob weld together aluminum wings that custom fit onto my skates. We then went out to the Funk Bros house and tested different size rockets on the skates. What we learned is that the smaller rockets in the range of C-D did not really give us enough thrust to move forward from a perfect stand still. From here we went up to the biggest rocket we had called and E class and then ignited them at a rolling start. This made all the difference in the world. Also to note that each letter class you go up doubles the power of the rocket. Now the skates we were using have these super big wheels and we wanted it that way so the rocket wing would have plenty of clearance to the ground, and that our max speed would be higher than if we used smaller wheels. However the unintended result of this was that it became so hard to get moving on that skates, or overcome inertia. This led us to figure out that the real punch from the rocket came from when we were already in motion. Now I’m a Millennial and was a huge fan of the Jackass series growing up, and in the original Jackass movie Johnny Knoxville tries on rocket quad skates. I’m pretty sure they just used bottle rockets, but this got me thinking... David Dobrik knows Steve O, and I know David Dobrik… so let’s put Steve O in rocket skates that are about 10 times more powerful than the ones Johnny Knoxville used and see what happens!
