I’ll show you in this video how to measure the speed, rpm, total rotations and other stats of your fidget spinner! This video is a DIY video to make your own RPM meter with Arduino and a laser pointer. If the fidget spinner comes loose, it can be extremely dangerous! I wore safety goggles and used a clamp. How does it work? Well, it’s very simple, as the fidget spinner spins, it cuts the beam of the laser pointer. The light sensor picks up this change, and it can calculate the speed of the fidget spinner by the rate at which the hand spinner cuts the beam, neat huh?
