The first new realistic mechanic is called the tree capitator. If you break the bottom log block, the reset of the tree will fall down, so you can easily break the whole tree by just breaking a single log block! There is some other new tree-related stuff as well like leaves slowly falling from trees. And after you have broken the trees, their dropped saplings will replant themselves as well!
