Well, we are finally getting that new software overhaul. In this video we’ll take a sneak peek at what the unreleased Tesla software version 11 currently looks like and we’ll go over the top most requested software features that may possibly show up in the final version when it’s officially released soon. So this is what the current UI layout looks like on my Model 3 with software version 10, and this is pretty much the same across all Tesla vehicles with the exception of the change in screen orientation. The upcoming Tesla software version 11 was recently captured from one of the new unreleased refreshed Model S vehicles, and you can see it has a new layout with some new fonts. There seems to be a new app switcher window with some new helpful quick controls that are bigger with icons so that they are easier to quickly change or toggle on or off. That’s the most important thing with this kind of software in a vehicle - when the controls are mostly all done from a touch screen they need to be easily and quickly accessible with obvious simple labels and icons, and it looks like Tesla did a good job with this. There are also some new driving settings as well including Drag Strip Mode and Smart Shift, which may be the new feature that Elon tweeted about how the car can control some of the drive modes automatically in order to replace the drive stalk. There’s also a new button called “Media On Drive” which seems to be related to the new second-row screen in the refreshed Model S and X. So Tesla has proven that they listen to customer feedback and they release software updates pretty frequently that address many customer suggestions and complaints so in anticipation of Tesla software version 11 I wanted to consolidate some of the most popular Tesla owner suggestions to see how many are actually implemented.
