Description: My Hero - Foo Fighters - Guitar Tutorial with Tabs My Hero is one of my favorite Foo Fighters songs, and while Taylor Hawkins wasn't with the band when this song was written, I saw him play it live and he gave it another life and energy that it didn't have before he joined the band. So, Taylor, thank you very much for all the good memories and the rock, and music community, will miss you dearly. Thank you. The song has a really cool double stop intro with a nice dissonant sound were the 7th interval is played against the root and then it is bent up to the root to create a very clean harmony and then back to the dissonance. The verse has this really cool chord change on the 4th beat that pushes the progression forward from a massive E5 chord that uses 5 strings, muting the G string and then to a C# power chord inverted with a G# in the bass, in the style of Wind Cries Mary like Jimi Hendrix. The chorus is very cool as well as it is two measures of A followed by two measures of E, but instead of just strumming through 8ths it spends a measure and a half going through an octave riff. The song was released on the '97 album but they had been playing the song live for 2 years before they actually recorded it to an album. The song, according to Dave Grohl, is dedicated to the everyday heroes that don't get the fame, the ordinary people, teachers, crossing guards, dads and moms, just ordinary heroes.
