Description: So many ppl out there with the older model 18 volt dewalt tools like myself probably don't wanna buy a whole new set of tools just because your batteries have gone bad from old age. Dewalt offers an adapter to allow you to use the newer model 20 volt batteries but it has some prong like pieces built in that prevent you from adapting to the larger 6 amp hour batteries. But if you're a redneck like me you wonder about just trimming those prongs off, does it work??? The answer is YES! Now my guess would be Dewalt has done this because the older tools might not withstand you running the tool for the full cycle of the longer amp hour battery, so my recommendation is to give your tool a break and let it cool off. For those ppl with some common sense, it's very possible, go for it dudes!
