Description: This is the first knife I've ever made so I'm sure there are a lot of things I've done wrong. I can say that it's held its edge and it feels like a really solid marking knife, so I think that's mission accomplished. I could definitely see getting into knife making after this, especially since this was just a proof-of-concept to see if it could be done. So I guess I see a mini forge build video coming up in the future! Off the top of my head the things that I may have screwed up: 1.) No real need to soften the tool steel to make a knife, then reharden. 2.) During rehardening, the oil may not be necessary (maybe water quenching would have been adequate). 3.) I could've spent another hour polishing and refining the knife face. 4.) Use a more efficient heating method (aka: a proper forge) Enable closed captions for commentary.
