I pretty much just cut a random color scheme and random number of threads and just start making knots. I try to just work in small sections switching between ideas rapidly to find out what has potential. I then go back and narrow down the section I like to remake as a repeating / stacking pattern. No rhyme or reason. No fear of mistakes. Just fun. It's the equivalent of doodling, just with knots and strings. xD
