Description: For this video, I decided to make Brooker’s Merocyanine, also called MOED, which exhibits solvatochromism. This means that it its color changes drastically, depending on the solvent that it’s dissolved in. I thought this effect was really cool and I wanted to try it out myself. Also, chemical companies sell it for hundreds of dollars a gram, and I wanted to see how much cheaper I could make it for.
