Description: 0:00 Demonstration 0:25 Introduction 1:03 Playing the chords 4:41 Chromatic Parallelism 5:34 Soloing over the chords 6:10 The minor pentatonic scale 8:31 Adding notes to the minor pentatonic 10:40 Upper triads and arpeggios 13:06 Outro solo In this lesson I'll go over a simple chill-hop chord progression which consists of a series of transposed minor chords. Minor chords with upper tensions create a very characteristic chill-hop sound, especially when played on an electric piano. Then, I'll show how simply transposing a cool sounding chord can yield an interesting chord progression. Finally, I'll talk a bit about soloing, which is sometimes (but not often) discussed in the context of chill hop. I hope you enjoy!
