Description: For decades researchers have thought that CR (calorie restriction) extends the life of experimental animals. The problem is that most of the research is confounded by the fact that the CR animals were on a TRF (time-restricted feeding) schedule that was basically OMAD (one meal a day). Given the significant hormone optimization that occurs with TRF/OMAD, the question becomes; was it the CR or the TRF that led to the life extension. To my knowledge, no research has yet been done that can tease these 2 interventions apart. Life-long CR is miserable and for the majority unsustainable. Many more people can do TRF/OMAD for much longer periods of time and feel great doing it. What if the Life Extension benefit is from TRF and not from CR, that would change how we think about many things, yes?
