Description: Hello #Sundari follow #KOQAL Instagram instagram.com/koqalofficial facebook facebook.com/KOQAL Youtube youtube.com/channel/UC7vOqSvmuIK3Kgprl4B5v8w Lets talk #menstrualcup today I wanted to focus on the importance of menstrual cups for 30+ women. So lets get started! If you are 30+ and still wondering what exactly is a menstrual cup, well, its only the most efficient way to deal with your period and keep living a productive life. What exactly is a menstrual cup? It’s a cup like shape, mostly made up of medical grade silicone and comes in different shapes with a teat at the end of it. It is suppose to be inserted in your vaginal track where it sits and collects all the menstrual blood. I know what you are thinking, cant it just slip out? Well no, you see menstrual cups are suppose to be folded before insertion and when inserted open up and create a suction inside and the only way for you to remove it or for it to move is if you pinch it from the bottom and break the suction seal. You can jump, swim, even do a cart wheel but the cup will remain intact unless you break the suction seal manually. This is something that many people find scary but its really not a big problem, it just take some practice. So why should you use a menstrual cup after 30? Well its bloody convenient, no really! If you have tried a menstrual cup or are using one currently, let me know in the comments, how is it going? Once inserted in your body a menstrual cup can be left there for upto 12 hours, you have to remove it at that time and empty out the cup and reinsert it. This all depends on your flow, if its heavier you will have to remove it faster, maybe 5 to 6 hours but comparing that to tampons and pads its amazing. After using menstrual cups my own self I recommended it to my very own sister and as a teacher with two children of her own, she was pretty much taken aback by how less effort a menstrual cup takes. She has no time to waste and all she has to do it use the menstrual cup in the morning and she is set for at least 10 hours. No more going to the wash room to check if you are leaving, no more of that weird feeling when you get up and feel the rush of blood. No more worrying about changing your tampon or pad on an important day. You can focus on your work, on your kids, on any activity you have to do and its great to have when travelling aswell. Its brilliant! Another thing that is great for us 30+ women is that it affordable, the amount of money we spent on pads and lets not even get into the pink tax and how expensive tampons are. A menstrual cup will cost you 200- 500 rupees and it can be used up to 7 years. I am not good at math but that’s A LOT less money when I compare it to how expensive pads are, and I don’t have to buy a menstrual cup again and again. Just buy it once and I am set for at least 5-7 years. I can save all that money, put it in a sip or my own retirement fund. As I said its bloody brilliant. But as everything there is a catch. When you do start using a cup for the first time, some people might find it not comfortable because they aren’t use to touching the inside portion of their own body, sometimes the folds can be confusing and open mid way through, sometimes the cup doesn’t open up as expected inside of you and most people don’t know which size to buy and end up buying a smaller size which can cause issues. You have to maintain the cup in hygienic conditions each time you use it because the cup stays inside you for so long , it needs to be clean. Personally I like to sterilize my cup once before I start my cycle and then once I have finished my cycle and then keep it covered in a soft cloth in a place where they isn’t extra humidity. While you are using the cup each time you just have to wash it with clean water and reinsert it. A lot of people have different ways of handling their cup so you can check out some links I will leave in the description box for more info. SO I hope you try using a menstrual cup and have a mind glowingly convenient period. I am going to leave some links of menstrual cups that I have bought and been using so you can buy it form there.
