Description: This short video will show you all the steps I took to draw this hyper-realistic drawing entitled "Fooled" Everything you see here is drawn including the background, the look of masking tape. I use a combination of graphite, charcoal, and carbon pencils to create this high contrast drawing that fools the viewer into thinking that real objects or present rather than just a two dimensional misrepresentation of those objects. The thought behind this one is that the butterfly may think it sees a real rose but it's just a photo. You may think it is a photo and a butterfly but it's just a drawing. Everyone is fooled! This type of artwork is actually called Trompe l"oeil, which is a French word meaning "to fool the eye".
