Description: Lawn darts are legendary; sold under many names and famously as 'Jarts' in the US and they were a toy so dangerous they were outright banned in the US and controlled in various ways in Europe. Their parallels with the Ancient Roman Plumbata; flighted war darts is quite clear but how dangerous are 'Lawn Darts'? I recruited a band of 1970's reenactors (yes they really do exist) and threw some darts about...... Many thanks to the 1970's camping reenactors of Kentwell Hall, Daddy two and daughter two and the 'geniuses' who thought they could tame a lethal weapon and give it to children.
