Description: This is me playing Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” on my tenor saxophone. I’ve been sooooo busy recording my upcoming EP, it felt nice to just let loose on a fun little beat. Each of these solos are freestyles and completely improvised. I think each of these were the second takes (of 3). For the first solo, I wanted to challenge myself to improvise and play with purpose, over a longer stretch of the song. I wanted speed but also some mellow tones and longer notes in there as well. For the second solo, it’s my brain on overdrive. I wanted to play as quickly and succinctly as possible without using a similar style as the first “verse.” I hope you guys enjoy this!!
