Description: Indigo, our wolfdog, was overwhelmed with excitement when she got to meet Faelan and Maeve from Running With Wolfdogs! Indigo tends to meet other wolfdogs with behavior that's described as "obnoxious submission". This behavior is common in wolves and wolfdogs and it is exactly how it sounds: the animal is so over the top submissive that it can become obnoxious. For this reason, doggy dogs can become very confused and annoyed when meeting wolfdogs. Other wolfdogs and wolves tend to tolerate it better but it's described as obnoxious for good reason. We're grateful to have formed such a true friendship with Moira from Running With Wolfdogs and getting to see her and her amazing pups is such a treat. Meeting Maeve was such a treat. In this video she's only 11 weeks old but is already as smart, sweet, and social as can be. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and YouTube! instagram.com/runningwithwolfdogs m.youtube.com/channel/UC-kXqGb6FY2rLLgmXM8HWXA Answers to questions I'm guessing I'll get: Why am I talking through the whole video? Indigo is very attuned to my energy, and as someone who is anxious literally always, I've found she is significantly friendlier and more relaxed when I make repeated verbal cues to indicate that I'm excited and happy. I recognize it's annoying. I don't care. My dog's ability to interact without being worried about how I'm feeling is far more important to me than how I come off in videos. Deal with it. Why is she acting like that? Indigo is making every effort to appear as small and non-threatening as possible. The tucked tail, ears plastered to her head, low butt, and belly flop are all her way of saying "I love you and will not hurt you, please don't hurt me, just love me". That's the way she feels safest meeting new wolfdogs. Once she feels more confident, she becomes a bossy little lady, but initial encounters always look like this. What are Maeve and Faelan? Maeve is a high content wolfdog and Faelan is an upper-mid content wolfdog
