Description: In this video, Adam Schafer breaks down a question from Episode #1594 from the Mind Pump Podcast about squat imbalances. Erick Burgess's question: I started out very focused on just building muscle and trying to get huge but you guys have shifted my focus towards mobility and overall health. After coming to the realization that I have several muscle imbalances (winged scapula, anterior pelvic tilt, one shoulder higher than the other, etc.), I bought MAPS prime and started putting in work to try correcting my imbalances. This was about a year ago and looking back now, I can say that my mobility has certainly improved but I almost feel like I may have created new issues in the process. For example, I realized that when squatting I would turn my right foot out but leave my left foot straight so I started working on external rotation on my left side. My external rotation has improved but now I have this nagging hip pain on that side right where the femur meets the hip. I also realized I had forward shoulder so I started focusing on bringing the shoulders back but now I can see that I have a winged scapula on the left side. I would really love to be able to have a conversation on the show to pinpoint the source of my problems and figure out the path forward.
