Description: Writing a summary of diagrams and map for the IELTS Academic Task 1 is both easy and difficult. It is easy because there is not much to choose from in terms of which elements to include. It is difficult because many writers do not know how to organize the information into two clear body paragraphs. Unlike other types of task 1 summaries, diagrams and maps require the writer to include all or almost all of the information. In this video, we look at the general approach to this task, which is not as common as line graphs, bar graphs, pie charts, and tables. We also look at one sample of a map of a before and after situation for a city block.
