So many of you enjoyed last week's fingerspelling challenge, so I wanted to share this past Friday's "Fingerspelling Friday" challenge here as well. These get posted EVERY Friday on Instagram, (@ASLMeredith), so even with the rough week that it was... I still wanted to show up, with two relevant words related to current events. *Tip: Use context! Many on Instagram commented that context helped them 'guess' the word, but it's not guessing if you're using context -- it's a strategy! Rarely are all handshapes produced in full in fingerspelling, so don't try to go letter-by-letter. Instead, focus on the letter handshapes you see at the beginning and end of the word, and use context to fill in the gaps and determine what was said.
