Description: This gourmet grilled cheese sandwich belongs in a museum's culinary collection! And it's SO easy to make! It's got melty Swiss or Muenster cheese, green onions, raspberry preserves, and pecans all sandwiched between two slices of sourdough bread. Who says you can't have a fancy grilled cheese sandwich while camping out in the desert? This video will show you how to make this simple, delicious sandwich. The full recipe as shown in the video is printed below. Additionally, there is a link down below to my recent video where I showed you how easy it is to make homemade tomato soup while camping in the desert. This grilled cheese sandwich goes great with that tomato soup! Bon appetit! ULTIMATE GOURMET GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH You will need: sourdough bread seedless raspberry preserves (make sure it's seedless!) sliced green onions chopped pecans Swiss cheese OR Muenster cheese (I've tried both, and both are delicious choices!) olive oil or butter 1) Spread the seedless raspberry preserves onto one slice of the sourdough bread. 2) Top the preserves with the sliced green onions and the chopped pecans 3) Add slices of either Swiss cheese or Muenster cheese so that they cover the onions and pecans. 4) Top the sandwich with another slice of sourdough bread. 5) Heat a little bit of butter or olive oil in your frying pan and then carefully add the sandwich. 6) Toast until the sides turn a golden brown. It's best to have your heat on medium or medium low. If the heat is too high, the bread browns too quickly which doesn't allow enough time for the cheese to melt. Each side should take 3 minutes or so, but always keep your eye on the sandwich so it doesn't brown too quickly or burn! When in doubt, keep the heat on low! 7) Put cooked sandwich on a plate, cut in half, and enjoy! Want some homemade tomato soup with that grilled cheese sandwich? Here's my video from a couple weeks ago that shows you how to easily make homemade tomato soup while camping in the desert. It's delicious and pairs quite nicely with this gourmet grilled cheese sandwich! youtu.be/B9OrIRluBlM #GrilledCheese #CampCooking #Sandwiches #GrilledCheeseSandwich #CampfireCooking #CampFood #CampRecipes
