Description: Let's see how we can fix some common mistakes people do when filming! Learn how to film yourself and others with our brand new course: andyax.com/course Have you ever come home from a day of shooting, and when you look at the footage you realise that it looks pretty bad? Well, you are not alone. And don’t worry, let's see what we can do in post to save you from all the pain. As editing software continues to evolve, it’s easier and easier to access good tools to manipulate and fix your footage in post. This does however only work to a certain extent, as you lose quality the more you adjust your footage. Having as good material as possible from the set, is no doubt the best. Then you both save time in post and you ensure the best quality possible for your sound and video. In one of our previous videos, we used lamps to create the teal and orange effect on set, rather than grading it in post. That’s one example of how to ensure the best possible quality. You can see it here: youtu.be/KCqcG4q5x5A However, this not what this video is about. In this video we will go through the most common issues filmmakers experience with their footage: 1. Shaky video This a very common problem. The quickest way to fix stabilization in post, is to use warp stabilizer in Premiere Pro. But we have another trick for you as well. 2. Poor sound Sound, a very important aspect of film-making which can create a lot of frustration in post if captured badly on set. Let's see what we can do about that. 3. Bad light and colors Shooting in the wrong white balance is a common problem in addition to over/under-exposed shots. Let's use Lumetri Color! 4. Unfocused shots This is very common, especially when shooting in manual focus for the first time. Can we save the shot in post? 5. Flickering Today, there are still no tools in Premiere that will fix this for you. But we have a quite simple trick we can try!
