Description: Grateful Dead perform “Sugaree’” Live from Fox Theatre, St. Louis, MO on December 10, 1971. Listen to it here rhino.lnk.to/S121071 Debuting a little more than four months earlier, Sugaree would be a very common first set song for the Grateful Dead 1971-1974, and would return in an expanded capacity when the Dead returned to touring in 1976, with some versions over the next 20 years clocking it at more than 15 minutes. This is the classic, early arrangement as Jerry would record it shortly after this performance for his solo debut album in 1972.
