Description: Participate in the new Global Dialogues story-creating contest. Win up to US$2,500. Deadline: 31 March 2015. For full info and to enter: globaldialogues.org and click on "Contests". Good luck! What's this all about? You are invited to come up with an original idea for a short film about HIV/AIDS, sexuality, violence against girls or women, or drugs, alcohol and sex. You can create a fictional story or share a true story that you have experienced. The best ideas will be adapted by professionals and turned into films by some of world’s greatest directors and young cinema talents. The Global Dialogues films, each proudly displaying the young authors’ names, are viewed by over 200,000,000 people every year online and on TV. Who and where? The Global Dialogues contest is open to ALL young people WORLDWIDE who will be under the age of 25 on 31 March 2015. (If you are older than that, you may participate by working in a team led by someone who is under 25.) When? All entries must be submitted online or postmarked by midnight GMT on 31 March 2015. How to participate? It’s up to you to decide what form your idea will take. Most participants in Global Dialogues contests write short stories, but you can also send in a video, a theatre piece, a comic strip, a song, a poem… anything is possible as long as the text is in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Kiswahili, Hindi, Mandarin, Russian, Bahasa Indonesia or German. If you write a story, it may be up to 10 pages long (maximum!). Recorded songs or videos may not be longer than 10 minutes. As you create your idea, please talk to organizations or individuals in your community who can provide you with good information on the contest issues, or visit credible sources of information online. You can take part alone or in a team. Working in a team has its advantages. It’s a great opportunity to talk about the issues together and to learn what other people think and feel. Each team must choose a leader. Each participant (or the team leader) must fill in the Participant Questionnaire. So, to participate in the contest, you must provide two things: your contest entry and your completed Questionnaire. FAQ: May I submit more than one entry? Can I win more than one prize? Yes! You may send in as many entries as you would like. And yes, you can win more than one prize. I’m older than 24 and want to participate. Is that possible? Yes. If you’re over 24, just work in a team with someone who is 24 or under. You must appoint someone under 25 to be your team leader. Does my story have to be about one of the suggested topics? No. You are free to create your entries about any topic you want, as long as they are related to HIV/AIDS, sexuality, violence against girls or women, or drugs, alcohol & sex. Do contest entries have to be in English? This year, we will accept entries in the official languages of the Global Dialogues contest: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Kiswahili, Hindi, Mandarin, Russian, Bahasa Indonesia, Dutch, Georgian or German. More languages will be added in the years to come. If you create your entry in another language, please have someone translate it into one of the official languages before you submit it. Do I have to submit my entries electronically? You may submit your entries electronically or via the post (mail). Either is fine. You can take part online via globaldialogues.org OR send your entries & completed Participant Questionnaire to either contest@globaldialogues.org OR Global Dialogues P.O. Box 33567 Decatur, GA 30033 USA
