Description: We thought we'd mix things up a bit. For those of you that have been around long enough, you might remember the Saturday Survival Series, a choose your own adventure web series on the Tin Hat Ranch website that was turned into a book (Aftermath- goo.gl/8UfREk). Well, this series might bring a little of that spirit to the YouTube channel. Down in the comments below, YOU are going to help make a better get home bag. Like we did in the Saturday Survival Series, we need suggestions on the scenario in which you want to see the gear in action..what leaves me stranded and forced to walk home. Each one of you are probably aware of a tool or product that works great in your get home bag. We want you to tell us about that gear. Once enough suggestions come in, we will get our hands on the best submissions and put it to the test..in context of the scenario. We need all of the things that will facilitate keeping the human alive, shelter, water, air, food, tools, etc. There are really two stipulations; first, the bag must have everything necessary to stay alive and get home in the worst of conditions, freezing temperatures, snow, rain, etc. Second, the bag will be a Kelty Redwing 44 (goo.gl/jMZOQ1). Why? After an exhaustive search, that is what I chose. It is the "Goldilocks Grayman" of bags. Not too big, not too small, it probably won't be mistaken as military, yet it blends in. It is tough, rugged, and has plenty of pockets and places to organize smaller items. Plus, as far as bags go, it isn't too expensive. The main limitations are the bag's size, the main compartment is 22x15x12, so use those dimensions when choosing the bigger gear. Fun, right? Let the games begin. Submit your suggestions and scenario in the comments!
