BUT.. all of that stuff weighs you down, makes your travels a lot less flexible, enjoyable and most importantly, less practical.. Having that awesome tripod in your backpack is no good if you won't take it out for the actual shot; a small gorilla pod in your pocket however might be a much better alternative for some situations.
