Description: View more at MathAndScience.com. In this lesson, you will learn about the interquartile range of data, also known as IQR. First, we must break up the data into quartiles, which divides the data into four equal groups. The interquartile range is the difference between Q3 and Q1, which is the third and first quartile. In this way, we can throw out any outliers and focus on the bulk of the data. The IQR tells us how spread the data is without considering outliers in the data.
