Description: EXPLORING Berlin: The FORGOTTEN TV Tower Berlin, the capital city of Germany, has some interesting viewpoints. Like the famous, or perhaps infamous Fernsehturm (TV Tower) at Alexanderplatz in the city center. But there are more viewpoints, some of them totally unknown to regular tourists. One of them is the Funkturm (Broadcast Tower) in the far western part near the International Congress Center (ICC). Funkturm is still open to the public but looks a bit worn out. I visited Funkturm on a winter day and there was no one there for more than 30 minutes. I had the entire view platform to myself. And the view is excellent. So I really recommend a visit to the Funkturm for those of you who wish to leave the beaten tracks and care for some alternative Berlin exploration.
