Description: On a dark, moonless night I found myself hiking a mile or so across the Arizona desert to explore an abandoned uranium mine. The Walker Wash Mine is a former uranium mine with two tunnels that pierce the side of a mountain. There isn't a lot information about this small mine's history, so it is a bit of a mystery. I did learn that the uranium found here was of a low-grade quality and probably not that worthwhile. In this video I also demonstrate my new Petzl headlamp (the DUO Z2 model) that I purchased for my new Petzl helmet. It was a rather expensive light at $200, but I have been very happy with it so far. I also demonstrate the high-tech skill of "scooching" and how it's a better way to descend a steep, mountain slope that is covered with loose rubble. LOL Enjoy! #ExploringAbandonedMines #AbandonedMines #MineExploring #UndergroundExploration #UraniumMine #UraniumMines
