Description: Etude #2 is one of my all-time favorite marimba solos. It focuses on triple laterals, one of my favorite techniques on marimba, and super satisfying to play. It would be an understatement to say that Paul Smadbeck is a personal hero of mine. His music opened a world of technique and possibility that transformed my approach to marimba. He has composed some of the most-performed, iconic marimba literature, and he has pushed the envelope of what's capable on this instrument.
